Jan Marek (in white), Metallurg Magnitogorsk

Sport Express announced earlier this weekend that Russian Super League champs Metallurg Magnitogorsk have re-signed Czech forward Jan Marek, their leading scorer last season.

Marek posted 24 goals and 39 assists for 63 points in 62 games last season. Metallurg had already signed their second-leading scorer and Marek's linemate, Nikolai Kulemin (37 goals in 69 games), one month earlier.

It was also announced in Sport Express yesterday that Montreal Canadiens forward Alexander Perezhogin has signed with Salavat Yulayev Ufa of the Russian Super League.

If anyone is wondering where the heck "Ufa" is and wants to see a map, click here.
